Short Version

What if mathematics could actually help you find your dreams?

Our next speaker is a former research mathematician and theoretical physicist who decided that the most important thing she could do with her PhD was bring curiosity, humor, and a fresh perspective to anyone who is ready to see the world a little differently.

Please welcome to the stage: Dr. Judith Zeilinger!

Formal Version

Dr. Judith Zeilinger holds a PhD in theoretical physics and a background in research mathematics.

After years in academic research and science communication, she stepped onto the keynote stage with a simple but powerful idea: that the mindset of a research mathematician, one built on curiosity, resilience, and a very specific relationship with failure, has something profound to teach all of us.

Her book Math (Re)Imagined brought this idea to readers around the world with humor, warmth, and contagious enthusiasm. Her TEDxGraz talk took it to the live stage.

Today she’s here to share what mathematics taught her about finding your direction, even when things feel uncertain.

Please welcome to the stage: Dr. Judith Zeilinger.

Long Bio

Dr. Judith Zeilinger is a keynote speaker and author based in Vienna, Austria.

She holds a PhD in theoretical physics and spent years working in research mathematics and science communication, fields defined by curiosity, complexity, and the constant challenge of making abstract ideas accessible and meaningful. While still in academia, she began competing in science slams, winning multiple competitions and discovering her love for the stage. Those early experiences shaped everything that followed.

Her keynote What if math could help you find your dreams? draws on her own experience navigating life as a researcher to show audiences how the thinking tools of mathematics can help anyone find direction, embrace uncertainty, and reignite their sense of purpose. Equal parts inspiring and unexpectedly funny, no math background required.

Judy is also the author of Math (Re)Imagined: How math was always meant to feel, a book that invites readers to rediscover curiosity and confidence through a fresh relationship with mathematics. Her TEDxGraz talk brought her ideas to an international audience. She is a member of the German Speakers Association (GSA) and Virtual Speaker Association International (VSAI).

When she’s not on stage, Judy works with scientists, researchers, and professionals on science communication and audience targeting, helping people turn complex ideas into stories that stick.
