Math (Re)Imagined — How math was always meant to feel

While touring through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to perform short math comedy skits (also called science slams), I got into conversations with many people who, upon finding out that I was a mathematician, always said the same thing: “I am so not a math person!” This always fills me with sadness. Not only do I firmly believe that the vast majority of people who consider themselves “bad at math” are not inherently incapable of “getting” math, but rather were never introduced to it in a way that made sense to them. But, much more intensely, I get so much joy, wonder, and happiness from math, and I wish nothing more than for other people to feel the same.

This is why I wrote Math (Re)Imagined! In this book, I counter that rigid and negative image math so often seems to get, I tell stories about my own struggles and how math has improved my life, and I share various strategies for learning math to suit different personality types, all packed in humour, interesting math examples and exciting tales throughout math history.

If you also no longer want math to be a hurdle in your life, but a source of happiness and joy, get my book, and let’s start this journey together!
